Get ready, Toronto. Some of the biggest stars in music have just been announced as performers for this year’s iHeartRadio MMVAs (Much Music Video Awards), and August can’t seem to come sooner!

After the move from their usual Fathers’ Day show date to the end of August, Toronto music fans had a bit longer to wait and hear about which stars would be stopping by – but it seems that the wait has been worth it. This morning, iHeartRadio Canada announced the first round of performers on their Instagram. Brampton’s very own Alessia Cara will be taking the stage along with Halsey, Marshmello, and Anne Marie.

Since 1990, the iHeartRadio MMVAs have been the event to be at for young music fans. Anticipation rises in the weeks leading up to the show with fans lining up for wristbands to the show, stages being built and attendees being announced, but nothing compares to the big day. Streets are shut down in the heart of downtown Toronto, and lucky fans get to watch some of their favourite artists walk the red carpet, host, and perform. Some unforgettable past performances include Rihanna’s first televised performance of the song “Take a Bow” in 2008 to David Bowie performing “The Pretty Things Are Going to Hell” in 1999.

If you missed last year’s show, you can check out our piece on the most memorable moments of the 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs!

You can tune into the show on August 26th.
