Our five favourite character make-up tutorials

There are a fair share of makeup tutorials on YouTube. From nailing the perfect smoky eye to contouring 101, you could probably learn almost all you’d ever need about the massive world of makeup. Recently, we’ve started delving deeper into the world of YouTube and discovered something great: character makeup tutorials.

The internet is such a beautiful place…

From simpler paint-on masks to full head projects involving bald caps and glued down brows, they’ve been all the craze, whether for giving themselves a creative challenge or just a good laugh!

We’ve compiled five of our favourite character tutorials, take a look!

5. Urslula

We have to say, this was absolutely amazing. Promise Phan definitely nailed Ursula’s character, who knew being an evil sea witch could look this good?

4. Deadpool

How many times have you seen Deadpool? Recently named the highest grossing R-Rated film, it’s not hard to remember this character. Couldn’t get into the movie? BE the main character.

3. Minons

It feels as if it were yesterday that Despicable Me came out in theatres. Has it really been almost 6 years? Since then, Minions have been absolutely everywhere. For those of you who want to go all out, here’s a great Minion tutorial!

2. Buzz Lightyear

In the world of makeup, the limits are infinity and beyond! No matter how many more Toy Story movies might be made, Buzz Lightyear and all the other characters will always have a special place in our hearts.

This is quite possibly one of the most epic character makeup transformations we’ve ever seen. Yoda, even complete with the ears! It’s an amazing example of how powerful art can be, no matter the canvas.
