Last year Freddie Long released his debut single Jean and after some time away in the studio, new single Sinner has kicked off 2019 in style for the upcoming solo artist.
Sinner is the incredibly funky new track from Freddie. Emotive, gravelly vocals are matched with a driving undertone making it impossible to not let this track get underneath your skin. Merging together different musical elements, some great opportunities for crowd participation (you’ll be singing the ooohhs and ahhhs in no time) and moments we know will be incredible live. Singing of a relationship or a friendship which you know isn’t good for you but you can’t tear yourself away from it is a truly relatable experience and we think that’s why we’re absolutely hooked on Sinner. Listen to the track and you’ll want to listen to it again, trust us.
Speaking of writing Sinner with Tobie Tripp (Years and Years, Tom Grennan), he explains “I remember both of us jamming out for an hour or so, then Tobie wrote this mean bass line, and from there it just happened naturally and I think within 2 hours we had written the track.”. The track is just one of the reasons that his online fanbase is already spanning globally..
Freddie’s first single Jean showed a different side to the one we’re seeing now due to the sheer simplicity of the track. One thing which definitely hasn’t changed is the lyrical power within the words being sung, it feels like a story is being brought to life in your mind thanks to Freddie. With his debut EP set for release on 17th May, there’s plenty new music to come from Freddie this year after he’s been working with producer Oliver Som.
If you like what you hear then Freddie Long will be playing Communion’s monthly live music night on March 3rd at Notting Hill Arts Club. For tickets and the full line-up head here.
