Gabriella Cilmi returned to the music scene last month with her stunning country-soul hit ‘Ruins’, which was well-received by fans and critics a-like.
She rose to fame with ‘Sweet About Me’ which conquered the globe, with a string of hits to go alongside.
Cilmi is back with the second single from her upcoming EP, The Water, which is also the name of the EP. It will be released November 1st through Kin Records.
Talking about the new single, Gabriella explains: “We wrote the water over a blues riff and it kind of evolved from there. The lyrics were inspired by new age prophets and the self-professed messiah types, who promise you heaven on earth if you follow them, sign up to their courses or donate to their “churches” funding their lavish lifestyles. I was watching Wild, Wild Country at the time and I guess that may have sublimely influenced me.”
We are so glad she is back to music!
