Girls Aloud have once again stepped up to raise vital funds for cancer charities in memory of their bandmate Sarah Harding.
Last night, Cheryl, Nadine, Kimberley and Nicola hosted a star-studded gala ‘Primrose Ball For Sarah’ at The Londoner Hotel, in London. It was named after the song ‘The Promise’ by Girls Aloud, in which Sarah sang “Here I Am, Walking Primrose”.

The money raised will help fund a study by Sarah’s doctor, who helped to look after the star up until her tragic death last year aged just 39. The study will examine why women in their early 30s and 40s are diagnosed with the disease, without any family history.
The girls said previously that they would not sing at the gala, as it wouldn’t feel right without Sarah. Instead, different singers took turns to sing some Girls Aloud classics. For example, Will Young sang ‘I’ll Stand By You’, Ricky Wilson sang ‘Love Machine’ and Olly Alexander sang ‘The Promise’. Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts sang a cover of a Hillsong track too.

It was hosted by Fearne Cotton, and other famous faces spotted at the event include Liam Payne and Laura Whitmore.
The gala is said to have raised at least £400,000, with money still currently being counted.
The charity gala comes after Cheryl, Nadine, Kimberley and Nicola partnered with Primark with a special nightwear collection, with proceeds being split between Cancer Research and The Christie charity in memory of Sarah.

The collection is currently on sale online and in all Primark stores in the UK and Ireland and is perfect for stargazers!
