Hairspray Live Debuts First Sneak Peek!

Although Hairspray Live isn’t debuting until December 7th, your first look is here! NBC dropped the promo featuring their incredible A-List cast during the Olympic Telecast, August 19th, with the closing song “You Can’t Stop The Beat” playing in the background and it’s as fun and colourful as expected!

In the short promo clip, we get to see some of our favourite characters dressed to the nines in their 60’s themed suits and dresses for the very first time! Including our favourite pop princess, Ariana Grande as Penny Pingleton, Liv and Maddie star, Dove Cameron as Amber Von Tussel, and Teen Beach Movie heartthrob Garrett Clayton as Link Larkin. Also welcoming newcomer Maddie Baillio in the lead role of Tracy Turnblad. This will be Maddie’s first major role! Other brief glimpses follow: Jennifer Hudson as Motormouth Maybelle, Martin Short as Wilbur Turnblad, Derek Hough as Corny Collins, Kristen Chenoweth as Velma Von Tussle and Harvey Fierstein as Edna Turnblad.

Another cast member has recently been announced for the role of Prudy Pingleton, Penny Pingleton’s (Ariana) mother. Andrea Martin will be taking on the role of Penny’s uptight and stubborn mother and by the looks of it, everyone’s pretty excited about this announcement!
