Blessed, Loved, Grateful, Amazed. These are all things we’re feeling right now. ‘Girls Like Girls’ singer, Hayley Kiyoko released her ‘Cliffs Edge’ music video on November 4th and let me just tell you, it’s beautiful! Kiyoko has shown her support for the lgbt+ community before with her song ‘Girl’s Like Girls’ video, starring Stefanie Scott and Kelsey Chow. In that video, Stefanie and Kelsey were friends who turned into lovers while Hayley directed the whole thing. However, in this video, Hayley directs and stars in it herself along with YouTuber, Sonya Esmen.

The video shows two girls, Hayley and Sonya, as a couple, kissing, cuddling, caressing each other affectionately. In different scenes, however, you can see them arguing in a car at first before it escalates outside. Hayley seems hurt as Sonya apologizes and rejects her when she tries kissing her but later accepts her show of affection with a distant, almost broken look on her face. During the end of the video, you can see Sonya running towards a body of water where she helps Hayley out and back onto the shore. They both seem shocked and exhausted, but no longer angry at each other.

The video has since hit over 1m views which Hayley took to her Instagram, celebrating the occasion. “WE HIT 1 MILLION VIEWS ON CLIFFS EDGE!!!! I think #GLG took 2 weeks to hit it. This time it’s been less than a week! I can’t thank you guys enough for supporting my art and sharing it with others. I’m seeing the GROWTH. We are starting a movement. It’s just amazing to watch. I love you all so much. Thank you :)”

Kiyoko also let us in BTS, telling us a bit about what it was like shooting, “I chose to shoot the music video up in Crestline, CA. The lake was freezing and those yellow towels saved us in between shots. We would be in the water, then I’d race to the monitor to watch the take. Start to get warm then jump right back in. I think we were in and out of the water for about 7 hours. Hot soup was definitely our friend that day.” Wrote Hayley on her Instagram.

You can watch the video right here!

What do you think about the video? Let us know!
