It was a pretty good night for Billie, BTS, Taylor and Halsey – with all four of them picking up two awards each! Billie has proven that 2019 has been her year – not only has she been one of this year’s biggest breakthrough acts, but she continues to dominate at the award shows, as she took home the awards for Best New Artist and Best Song for “bad guy”.

The BTS Army continued to prove their loyalty, as they helped the K-pop boyband to bag the awards for both Biggest Fans and Best Live. Taylor was also awarded both Best US Act and Best Video for “ME!” – perhaps one of the biggest awards the show had to offer – while Halsey won both Best Pop and Best Look.

Meanwhile, Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher was presented with the prestigious accolade for EMA Rock Icon – and he’s also the first artist to receive such an award.

Oh, and we couldn’t forget the performers! As well as an epic opening performance from Dua Lipa, the awards also saw the return of Akon, who performed his newest single with host Becky G. NCT 127 also made MTV EMA history as the first K-pop act to perform at the awards , whilst Ava Max, Niall Horan and Mabel were just some of the other artists who also took to the stage to sing their latest hits.
