Icona Pop are finally back with a brand new, especially great banger of a track!
The Swedish electropop duo came out on stage during the Grammis- an important Swedish awards show- last night in order to debut their first new track in almost over a year now (their last EP with featured the electro-swing-influenced song “Emergency” came out in July). They did so with a little help from their Swedish friends, namely pop princess and “Lush Life” singer Zara Larsson, and up-and-coming electropop singer-songwriter Elliphant.
This new track is titled “Someone Who Can Dance” and is their most catchy and daring one since “I Love It”. The duo returns to their club sound in this one while also showing their versatility at the same time. “I want someone who can dance, not someone I can talk to”, the catch phrase of the track, is being shouted multiple times in the usual Icona Pop-style while a distorted, dance-ready beat stomps on continuously in the background. “Someone Who Can Dance” is definitely the type of track we have all been waiting for and it might just end up being the lifesaver that guarantees our survival during those last cold, winter weeks.
“Someone Who Can Dance” was written and produced by Icona Pop and Jarrad Rogers (aka: MSTR ROGERS, a frequent Charli XCX collaborator). It is available for purchase on all digital retailers as well as for streaming on Spotify, etc.
You can watch the Grammi performance with Zara Larsson and Elliphant down below. It is definitely worth it.
