DISCOVER: INNA Features On Yellow Claw’s New Single “Baila Conmigo” Alongside Saweetie & Jenn Morel

This week saw quite a few amazing new releases that we really can’t stop listening to, but here’s one you may have missed. It’s Yellow Claw’s awesome new single “Baila Conmigo” which features three female singers known as INNA, Saweetie & Jenn Morel. This release follows up Yellow Claw’s single “Get Up” featuring Kiddo, INNA’s fifth studio album YO, Saweetie’s remix of the single “My Type” featuring City Girls & Jhené Aiko (which was also released last Friday), and Jenn Morel’s collaboration with HJM on the single “Touch My Body” featuring Joelii.

Yellow Claw are a well-known Dutch DJ duo consisting of Jim Aasgier and Nils Rondhuis. They have released three studio albums to date, all of which have charted in their home country of the Netherlands as well as Belgium, and their first two albums also hit the US Billboard 200. They’ve had various hit singles in the Netherlands and Belgium, namely “Shotgun” featuring Rochelle – which also charted in Russia, and “Till It Hurts” featuring Ayden. They’ve worked with some of the most renowned and upcoming DJs, producers, and artists including Steve Aoki, Diplo, Becky G, Ty Dolla $ign, Galantis, and many more. We even managed to interview them, last year, about their track “Bittersweet”. This new track is slightly different from what we expect from them, giving us a Latin vibe. It feels more of a warm-up track to their DJ sets.

Featuring on this track is CelebMix favourite, INNA, whose real name is Elena Apostoleanu. She is one of the biggest Romanian female artists around at the moment, having gone on to have international success with her early singles such as “Hot”, “Amazing”, and “Sun Is Up”. She continued her success with a variety of singles that have hit over 100 million views on YouTube including “Ruleta“, “Gimme Gimme“, and “Heaven“. She has collaborated with some of the biggest artists and DJs including Flo Rida, Pitbull, J Balvin, Daddy Yankee, Martin Solveig, Sak Noel, and Dannic, to name a few. She recently released her sixth studio album, YO, which saw her take creative control, unlocking her songwriting abilities. This marked her first full Spanish album. It spawned five singles, “RA”, “Iguana”, “Sin Ti”, “Tu Manera”, and “Te Vas“. We also managed to speak to INNA in an exclusive interview about the album, in which she revealed that there were more collaborations in the future – we presume this was one of the collabs she revealed that she was waiting to be confirmed.

Also featuring on the track is Saweetie, real name Diamonté Harper. She is a rising American singer, songwriter and rapper. She released her debut single “Icy Girl” in 2017 which led to her getting signed and releasing two studio albums as well as her recent single “My Type” charting on the US Billboard Hot 100. You may recognise her name from features which include remixes of Dua Lipa’s “IDGAF” and Anne-Marie’s “2002”, as well as singles “Stupid Things” by Four of Diamonds, “You Come First” by Zak Abel, “YUSO” by Kid Ink also featuring Quavo, “Too Much Shaft” by Quavo, and “Come On” by City Girls & DJ Durel. She’s also known for dating Migos band member, Quavo; they’ve been together since mid-2018.

Additionally, Jenn Morel also appears on this song. She is a Dominican singer-songwriter who went viral with her debut track “Pónteme”, although many may have seen her previously as she appears as a dancer in music videos for the likes of LMFAO, Ne-Yo, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Trey Songz. She’s definitely someone to watch and more than likely a rising star in the industry.

This new song, “Baila Conmigo” – which translates to “Dance With Me” in English, has been written by Diamonté Harper, Jeniffer Morel, Jim Taihuttu, Joely Gedrin Morel, Nils Rondhuis, Ophlin Russell, Thom va der Bruggen, Tori Rae Diaz, and Winston Riley. Talking to Hollywood Life, Yellow Claw’s Nils Rondhuis said, “We already had Jenn Morel and had connected with INNA on ‘Baila Conmigo’, but we still had the hook open, so we sent the song along to Saweetie.”

The song samples the popular Jamaican song “Sister Nancy Bam Bam” which came from Saweetie herself after she sent a line of the song to Yellow Claw. Jim Aasgier went on to say, “When she did a verse on the song, it kind of changed the whole perception of the song for us… So we redid the song once she came on.”

It sure has that Jamaican vibe about it which we can’t help but love. “Baila Conmigo” is a tropical track that is perfect to get your party started. Yellow Claw manages to impress throughout, flipping and changing the intricate rhythm of the track making the listeners follow along in glee throughout. INNA hits the lyrics first, with a fired-up vocal that is a pure standout – it’s no wonder she’s an international artist; her vocals are rich and full of passion as she sings the chorus. Saweetie and Jenn Morel cover the verses of the song splitting the song up perfectly with a brilliant rap and an awesome Spanish verse, respectively. Fire throughout, we’re sure you’ll have this one repeat in no-time – we sure do.
