Martin Jensen is a Record Producer & Multi-Platinum DJ that with more than 2,2 Billion global streams on Spotify alone has become an international artist. Among his global hits like “Solo Dance” & “All I Wanna Do” Martin has worked with international artists like Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Jason Derulo and many more.

Martin has played in front of hundreds of thousands all around the world at some of the planet’s biggest and most prestigious festival with a reputation of zero disappointment. Martin Jensen has also taken part in X Factor Denmark 2021 and 2022 as the judge together with Kwamie Liv and Thomas Blachman. ? With a driving force within dance music, performing and entertainment, Martin shows absolutely no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

You’ve started 2023 off with a bang with your brand new single ‘Days Like This’ with Jay Sean! How did the track come about?

Thanks guys! We just hit over 1 million streams with ‘Days Like This’ so we’re super happy that the fans are really resonating with the vibe too! I’ve always been a fan of Jay Sean as an artist from his early days – everyone knows tracks like ‘Down’ – and to bring together our signature sounds was super dope. He brought a great edge to the track, and I especially enjoy working with vocalists. I also feel like we have brought together two of our fanbases from different times in the industry to a fresh year with something exciting to kick off 2023!

‘Days Like This’ has been a clear winner with fans. What was the vibe you wanted to give off on this track and why do you think it has been so successful?

Thank you! Yes, I’m super happy about that! We wanted to create a confident track that had a sort of a no-shits-given attitude but also worked really well in a pop and radio sphere too. I like to make music that is accessible but also has an edge, so I think the fans get where we were coming from.

Do you enjoy working with collaborators? Or do you prefer to produce in your own space, solo, when in the studio – or is it just not fair to compare the two? Enlighten us!

I enjoy both in different ways totally, I like the ideas of collaborating together with other artists who may push and pull you to think of things in a different way than you would if you were just working solo. But working solo also is something I’ve always done, and it is then only my ideas and mine only are my choices. I’m a very independent person but I do completely see the benefits of both!

If you could collaborate with anyone in the world, who would it be?

Taylor Swift, no question. She has completely revolutionized the music industry as a whole for artists and I’m a big big fan.

From your huge releases including ‘Solo Dance’ that was a radio smash around the world, to tracks like ‘Pages’ that take on a more main stage/ club sound, what is your process when you get in the studio?

It is different every time. I can take inspiration from a vocalist and their topline, I can find inspiration myself from starting with a bassline, a synth line, a melody, it is different on my moods or what direction I’m feeling that day.

You produce, DJ, are a songwriter and was also an XFactor judge as the first DJ to do so! You’ve accomplished so much but is there anything, yet you have not done in your career, that you would like to?

I just think that for me I’d like to keep pushing not only my brand as an artist – so expanding my ideas like ‘Me, Myself, Online/ Live’ into new avenues, working with other artists and brands who I’m a fan of, and to continue to make music that will stand the test of time!

Going back to XFactor, as we mentioned, you were the first ever DJ/ Producer to hold the role of being a judge – with such a smash hit show, how was that experience?

It was an honour but very intense! I think people get a sense of that from the speed and intensity of the show but more so from the artists and acts, but it’s a whole team effort. As a judge, I took my role very seriously and it was a once-in-a-lifetime project to be a part of, but it also came with a very demanding schedule. So, some things, both personally and professionally, then have to shift to accommodate being a judge. I was very proud to be the first DJ to hold the role and bring even just a little bit of the production and DJ world into people’s consciousness every week.

You also have a new single ‘What A Night’ coming with VAMERO and Gibbs this February, what can you tell us about that?

I do! It’s a deep track that has this really cool simmering groove and a really strong vocal, too. To work on bringing some energy and a classic-style of melody – that you may recognise – into a new style was super fun. It’s only February but I know this one is just going to go off as soon as festival season arrives!

As well as being busy in the studio, what are your live shows and festival diary looking like for this year? Do you have any secrets you can spill, or any particular shows you’re looking forward to playing?

Not too much yet, some of our events are still being finalised but I have some club and headline shows coming up into the Spring. As for now, my studio releases have been taking a lot of the front seat. But I always really enjoy getting on the road to play for my fans!

Any final words for your fans, Martin? And what can we expect from you for the rest of this year, as we congratulate you on an amazing start to this one already!

Thank you for all your support so far already this year, this is just the beginning!
