Los 5 is an up-and-coming pop group whose members come together from all over the globe. The band formed in 2013 and has been spreading their message of love and positivity ever since. If you haven’t already heard of Los 5, we’ll give you the run down!
Los 5 consists of five members all hailing from different Spanish-speaking countries but now residing in Los Angeles, California (hence the name Los 5 — a combination of both Spanish and English.) The band members include singer Juan Pablo Casillas, guitarist Izmael Cano, bassist Hector Rodriguez, drummer Tomas Slemenson and rapper Matt Rey.
The band was recently honored with being named Elvis Duran’s Artist of the Month for March 2016. After receiving this title, the boys performed on The Today Show with Kathy Lee and Hoda. Los 5 has caught the attention of many other influential figures in the music industry including 102.7 KIIS FM’s radio host JoJo Wright, singer Becky G and artist Prince Royce.
Los 5 may only have a few recorded songs released to the public so far, but the response has been overwhelming. The band does not keep fans waiting and dropped live videos of their upcoming songs through YouTube videos titled #NoMic1Take.
Los 5 recently released a music video for “Poquito Mas” off their upcoming EP Meet Los 5, which is set to be released later this year. This single follows up the band’s previous hits “Mexico” and “Mañana.” “Mañana” recently surpassed one million streams on Spotify, making it the band’s most popular song to date.
