Juan Antonio Bayona is set to direct “Jurassic World 2”, the Dino sequel.
The first Jurassic reboot was directed by Colin Trevorrow, but after the big success of the movie – it grossed over $1.6 billion, Trevorrow accepted another job. He is now set to direct “Star Wars: Episode IX”, but he doesn’t risk anything with the further great outcome of the dinosaur films.
The screenplay of the sequel was written by Trevorrow himself and Derek Connolly. They’ve waited to get a good script before looking for a director, but now Colin and the producer Frank Marshall both announced today on Twitter that they are happy to welcome Bayona to the team.
Proud to collaborate with one of my favorite filmmakers on the next Jurassic adventure. JA Bayona, it's all yours.

The Jurassic series isn’t going to stop at a second movie. According to reports, the film has been confirmed to be made into a whole trilogy. Wow!
There is an additional pleasant surprise: the praiseworthy stars of the reboot, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will return.
