Singer-songwriter James Smith has released the music video for his latest track, ‘Hollow’.
Directed by Tarun Thind, the black and white visual is a simple yet artistic affair which keeps the focus on James’ soulful vocals. During the emotional performance piece, James performs the powerful ballad against a countryside backdrop.
At the beginning of the visual, we see James sitting in a car by the roadside, however, as the visual progresses and nighttime looms, the final scene sees James giving an impassioned performance in front of the very same car which is now on fire with burning flames.
Check out the visual for ‘Hollow’ below.
‘Hollow’ is James’ latest single and follows on from releases including ‘Tell Me That You Love Me’, ”T-Shirts’, ‘Hailey’ and ‘Blackbird’. The singer-songwriter also unveiled his debut EP Little Love last year.
It’s safe to say that James has come a long way since making it to the Britain’s Got Talent Finals in 2014. Over the past few years he has been busy honing his craft and has garnered critical acclaim from tastemakers including Notion and Clash Magazine.
James has built up a solid fanbase by touring too, and recently sold out a headline performance at London’s Omeara. This support is also evident within his streaming numbers, with James notching up over 93 million streams on his tracks on Spotify.
There is no doubt that James Smith is one to watch over the coming months. It’s exciting to see how much he’s grown as an artist already and we have no doubt that the only way is up for this homegrown talent.
‘Hollow’ is available to download and stream now.
