Singer-songwriter Jasmine Thompson released a Debut EP, Adore, just in time for her world tour.
The young half British, half Chinese star began with grainy youtube recordings at the age of ten. Four years and 200 million youtube views later, her covers of songs like “I see Fire”, “Ain’t Nobody” and “Let Her Go” have made her one of the up-and-coming artists to watch.
Jasmine’s cover albums “A Bundle of Tantrums” and “Another Bundle of Tantrums” got her national attention when they sneaked onto the UK’s Top Album chart. Since her youtube days, she has signed with Atlantic Records and performed on major stages. But her biggest hit so far has been a cover of Shaka Khan’s “Ain’t Nobody”, which DJ Felix Jaehn remixed. The mix took Jasmine to the top of Austria, Germany and New Zealand’s top 40 charts. The song reached number two overall on UK’s top 40 singles chart.
The British singer’s vocals have been described as “eerie and incandescent”. According to an interview with Culture Brats, her influences include Florence and the Machines and Pink. But there is no mistaking the ethereal feeling she adds to some of today’s biggest pop hits. Jasmine’s new EP finally gives fans a chance to listen to her original work.
You can purchase Adore on Amazon, i Tunes and Google Play. Jasmine’s tour begins in Germany, and she will perform in the UK on November 4th.
