Singer-songwriter Jasmine Thompson has unveiled her latest single, ‘already there’.

Produced by TMS (Lewis Capaldi) and co-written with Kristin Carpenter (Greyson Chance, Nasty Cherry, NOTD), Maddie Eliasson, Sebastian Daniel (Matoma, Afrojack), Michael Pollack (Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson, Maroon 5) and TMS, ‘already there’ reflects on the time when Jasmine took a year off from her music career, which led to her falling in love with making music all over again.

Jasmine has been building up a devoted fanbase for the past ten years, and back in 2017 at the age of 16 she took some time away from her blossoming music career to wait tables at a restaurant in London’s Soho. The experience allowed her to reset and discover who she was and ultimately, the time away fuelled her motivation and desire to continue being an artist.

As always, ‘already there’ showcases Jasmine’s incredible maturity as an artist as well as her ability to write heartfelt and emotive lyrics. The track embraces the singer-songwriter’s heavenly vocals and reminds us that she continues to evolve as an artist with each release.

The accompanying music video pays homage to that time in her life as she romanticises the idea of two strangers meeting in a bar or restaurant, how they came to be, and how they grew stronger while apart.

‘already there’ marks the beginning of Jasmine’s next chapter, with a new EP called all of the above in the works. Speaking about the EP, Jasmine said: “This EP covers a paragraph in my life. It’s an offering to my fans and I hope it connects with them the way it’s connected with me.”

‘already there’ is Jasmine’s first release of 2021 and follows on from her sensational Zedd collaboration ‘Funny’ which was released last year. To date, the track has amassed over 170 million global streams and 15m YouTube views.

Back in October, Jasmine celebrated her 10th anniversary on YouTube and released a video revisiting some of the gorgeous covers which launched her to fame on the platform. She also thanked her fans for being so encouraging and continuing to support her over the years.

‘already there’ is available to download and stream now.
