34 years since he first played Joseph in the 1991 London Palladium production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Jason Donovan has revealed he is to return to the show to play the Pharaoh in the upcoming tour of the much loved Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical.

Donovan will play the role for one week only at the Mayflower Theatre in Southhampton from May 13th – 18th 2025.
As previously announced the current touring production stars Christina Bianco as Narrator and Adam Filipe as Joseph, with Hugh Cotton as Reuben, and Will Haswell as Simeon. Joe McElderry will take on the role of the Pharaoh for select stops during the new tour.
Commenting on his return, the ‘Too Many Broken Hearts’ says: “Joseph will always hold a special place in my heart and to return to the show in the new Palladium production and later UK tour as Pharaoh was an incredible experience. Southampton’s audiences were electrifying and I can’t wait to revisit the city later this year when I play my only dates on the 2025 tour. Be sure you don’t miss out on your ‘dream’ ticket!”

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a beloved musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber (music) and Tim Rice (lyrics). It was first performed as a 15-minute pop cantata in 1968 and has since grown into a full-length theatrical production celebrated worldwide.
