Jay Z has finally spoken about the violent fight with Solange Knowles which emerged via secret video footage at the Met Gala back in 2014.
Footage of the confrontation became public unbeknownst to the family and showed Solange viciously attacking Jay Z in an elevator while Beyoncé looked on.

In an hour long interview with RapRader, the Grammy award winning performer discussed the incident and how the relationship has changed between him and Solange.
“We’ve always had a great relationship.”
“I fought my brothers and argued with my brothers my whole life.”
“It just so happens, who we are, these things go into different space, but it ain’t nothing.” Jay Z said earnestly on the podcast.

But, he did not state why the argument happened or why it violently spiralled out of control but he did express that the pair’s bond is good.
“We’ve had one disagreement ever. Before and after, we’ve been cool.”
“She’s like my sister. I will protect her.”
That’s my sister. Not my sister-in-law. My sister,” He said.

Fans have speculated what sparked the confrontation but Jay Z seemed to admit his mistakes and expressed regret on his new album with the song ‘Kill Jay Z’:
You egged Solange on / Knowin’ all along, all you had to say you was wrong
You almost went Eric Benét / Let the baddest girl in the world get away.

He confessed that it was about taking off a disguise and “killing off the ego” so that he could “have a different kind of conversation” with his fans.
We like this new honesty from Jay Z and hope to hear more from him in the future.
