The Iron Fist now has an iron leading lady.
Jessica Henwick, known for her badass roles in Game of Thrones and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, has been cast as Colleen Wing, the lead female role in the upcoming Netflix original series Marvel’s Iron Fist.

Colleen is a martial arts expert who runs her own dojo in New York City. She is known as one of the first friends of the Iron Fist himself, Daniel Rand, and will be a valuable and powerful ally to him throughout the series.
According to Marvel’s website, everyone is ecstatic about the casting. “I’m very excited to have Jessica as our Colleen Wing,” stated Scott Buck, executive producer of Marvel’s Iron Fist. “She’s shown us that she can bring both a sense of quiet strength as well as an engaging vulnerability to the character.”
Marvel Television’s executive producer Jeph Loeb also praises Henwick. “[She] brings both a youthful vitality mixed with a strong sense of authority crucial to the character…she can throw down with the best of them, making her the perfect Colleen Wing.”

The show itself will follow billionaire Rand, who upon returning to New York after having been missing for several years, has to save his city by fighting crime and corruption with his masterful kung-fu skills and his incredible Iron Fist power.
No premiere date has been set for Marvel’s Iron Fist, but we are sure that when it arrive, it will surely pack a punch.
