Yorkshire singer-songwriter John Newman has released his new EP titled A.N.i.M.A.L.
The four-track EP includes the previously released Nina Nesbitt collaboration, ‘Without You’ in addition to three new songs: ‘A.N.i.M.A.L.’, ‘The Hardest Word is Goodbye’, and ‘Heart Goes Deeper’. Each song gives us a different insight into John’s infectious musicality, proving that the artist is capable of delivering everything from roaring anthems to heartfelt ballads.
Speaking about the EP, John said: “I have been going back and forth to these songs for a couple of years now and am finally ready to put them out there. These four very personal songs are really close to my heart and have carried me through some hard times.
“The EP deals with themes such as the unnecessary pressures we put ourselves under, struggles with mental health and the power of love to conquer all. The process also reminded me why I love writing and recording and releasing music and made me realise how lucky I am to have this creative outlet.”

This EP follows on from John’s acoustic Out of the Blue EP which was unveiled following his successful tour of the same name. The tour saw John reconnect with his audience by playing numerous sold out shows in intimate venues across the UK.
Following on from the intimate tour, John will be heading out on another tour this month. The 10 date tour will stop in cities including Newcastle, Glasgow and Leeds, without forgetting a stop at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire. John will be supported by The Tors and Declan J Donovan.
