Jon Bon Jovi surprised lifelong fan Carol Cesario, who is currently fighting stage 4 lung cancer, in Toms River, New Jersey.
Rosie Skripkunis, Carol’s daughter, took to social media in hopes of catching the singer’s attention in order to meet her mother. In the post, Carol is seen at the hospital holding a sign that reads, “Please Share So I Can Meet Bon Jovi.”
Rosie remembers growing up with her mother constantly dancing around to Bon Jovi’s music. Rosie said that she and her three siblings wanted to do something special for their mother. Within an hour of the Facebook post, Rosie was already planning a surprise with Bon Jovi’s team.
Rosie worked with the staff at JBJ Soul Kitchen (Jon Bon Jovi’s restaurant) in Toms River, NJ, to arrange the surprise. During the meal, Jon Bon Jovi greeted Carol as she yells, “Oh my god.”
Rosie told Philadelphia Action News:
“I told her I wrote to his restaurant, that they said they couldn’t pass fan mail on, but that they had invited us for a free meal. It was a free meal, but it was a free meal with Bon Jovi there.”
Bon Jovi spent hours talking to Carol and her family. He also gave her a signed guitar and book. Bon Jovi also performed some songs especially for Carol, from his upcoming album This House Is Not For Sale.
Rosie then wrote on Facebook:
“This has been one of the best days of our families life. Seeing my mom this happy filled me with so much joy. I still can not believe this happened. Jon is a amazing human. We appreciate everything he did for our mom and for our family today.”
