Singer-songwriter and multi-talented musician, Jonah Kagen, releases his brand new single “Wish You Did” along with a cinematic music video directed by Elliot Charof.
In Autumn 2020, he teased out his original single “Broken,” previewing the song by encouraging his followers to “co-write” with him via TikTok, which incited a flurry of duets. As the video amassed millions of social views and engagements, he built up anticipation for its release, attracting a staggering 30,000 pre-saves.
Having written “Broken” during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jonah explained, “the midst of the virus was a very dark time. I felt like people needed something to represent how they felt but in a hopeful way. I could see the power of what ‘Broken’ initially did on TikTok where so many people filled in their own stories in the comments. Lyrically, it’s a cry for help when you reach your breaking point, but it’s also a reminder to keep going.”
The new single “Wish You Did” continues to show Jonah’s unique sound and talent that sees him pen the kinds of lyrics that turn into festival singalongs, tweets, and tattoos. It’s a track that will have you singing along before the end of your first listen, and then it’s one you will have on repeat.
