Landing on the same day as the rising artist’s debut EP, ROOT, ‘Take It Slow’ joins previous releases on a collection of the singer’s tracks to date. Having featured on big Spotify playlists such as New Music Friday and The Pop List, garnered support from the prestigious BBC Introducing and even climbed the Spotify Viral Charts, ROOT is a landmark release from Joseph Marcus. “ROOT is a compilation of my releases so far; an introduction to my music and a preface of what’s to come”, he elaborates.
In the making ever since debut single ‘Right Thing To Do’ hit platforms in 2017, ROOT sees the singer combine inspirations from Jill Scott to Beyoncé to Björk over bubbling production and R&B-influenced vocals. With ‘Right Thing To Do’ and ‘Better Love’, a dancefloor-sized pop moment, already hitting over 500,000 combined Spotify streams alone, ROOT is an exciting release from an artist whose potential is more than proven.
