Joseph Marcus follows up hits ‘Better Love’ and ‘Right Thing to Do’ with new single ‘Water’.
Singer/songwriter and bedroom producer, Joseph Marcus, has been making waves with his brand of soul-filled electropop. Today, he releases third single, ‘Water’.
Since debuting in 2017 with ‘Right Thing to Do’, the singer today makes an appearance on Spotify’s New Music Friday and recently featured on BBC Introducing. Not straying far from the winning formula that led to 2018’s hit ‘Better Love’, ‘Water’ is listeners’ latest taste of an artist who looks to be one of pop’s most promising voices.
Self-produced alongside Mack Jamieson, Joseph Marcus dedicates ‘Water’ to a close friend’s relationship struggle.
“Water is for one of my closest friends about a situation they were going through. Its about a moment I think a lot of people have found themselves in; knowing that you are ready to be with someone but their immaturity and fear of commitment is holding you back, and deciding whether you’re going to try to wait it out to see what could be, or recognise the worth of your own time and move on to look after yourself.”

Having supported the likes of James Vickery and having worked with producers such as SG Lewis and Phairo, Joseph Marcus is moving in all the right circles. Naming artists from Beyoncé to Björk as influences for his unique twist on 2019’s electropop, we can’t wait to hear what’s next.
