We first introduced you to singer-songwriter Jules Rendell last year, when she released ‘Old Friend’, the first song from her forthcoming album Imagine.
Now, the songstress is back with another taster from the album. ‘Let Go’ is Jules’ latest infectious offering, which sees her team up with Riccy Mitchell. From the opening seconds of the song, it’s clear to see that we have a new anthem on our hands. Not only is the thumping melody completely captivating but the song is very empowering. Reminding us that the pressure to be perfect can often be overwhelming, ‘Let Go’ encourages us to do just that – let go and live your best life.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Jules said: “When I was writing for this album, I realised I had the same perfectionist tendencies of so many around me; crippling thought patterns and unrealistic expectations that were stifling my potential. In my mind, nothing I did was ‘good enough’ – and I know that so many people spend every day thinking like that. I wrote this song for myself and for everyone who allows the fear of making mistakes to hold them back from living a full life.”
The song has also been teamed up with a powerful visual directed by Gareth Kay and Jules herself. Watch the video for ‘Let Go’ below.
‘Let Go’ will appear on Jules’ forthcoming album Imagine, which is due for release in Spring 2018. The themes of self-worth and perfectionism are set to be central to the album, and we can’t wait to hear what else Jules has up her sleeve. Following the release of her album, Jules will also be heading out on a UK tour.
‘Let Go’ is available now on iTunes and Spotify.
