Singer-songwriter Julia Michaels has unveiled ‘Love is Weird’, the latest cut from her forthcoming debut album Not in Chronological Order.
Written by Julia with producers John Ryan and The Monsters & Strangerz, ‘Love is Weird’ is a delicate acoustic ballad which channels the highs and lows of love and heartbreak. Showcasing her trademark confessional songwriting style, the track is a raw and honest offering which sees Julia explain the complexities of falling in love.
“Tattoos on my arm / Still scared of forever / Keep my ex’s letters / In the third door of my dresser,” she sings over a stripped back melody, which highlights the ethereal quality of her vocal. Known for wearing her heart on her sleeve, Julia portrays her feelings in such a relatable way and ‘Love is Weird’ is sure to resonate with anyone who’s ever fallen in love.

‘Love is Weird’ follows on from Julia’s recently released singles ‘All My Exes’ and ‘Lie Like This’, all of which are taken from her highly anticipated debut album Not in Chronological Order. The 10-track album is due for release on April 30.
Speaking about the album, Julia said in a release: “The way that I saw the tracklisting in my head, a lot of the heartbreak came in the middle, and finding new love came at the end. That’s the arc of this album: I’m not bitter about love anymore. I know what functional love is like and being in love and being hesitant about that love because it feels so perfect.”
