New York-based artist Julian Lamadrid releases his new single, Red Car along with a stunning, stripped-down live session video.
Born and raised in Dubai Julian has previously released “Mess”, “Neon” and most recently, “Die Young”, off of his forthcoming album Mala Noche, which will come out this autumn Julian composed, wrote and produced the record in its entirety, as well as directed all of the accompanying visuals.
Julian signed to Sony’s Arista Records earlier this year after label CEO David Massey was sent his music and listened to it on the way back from the Grammy’s and he was blown away by what he heard.
Julian has just performed two shows in both New York at Mercury Lounge and LA at The Echo. With Elvis Presley, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Lou Reed as his greatest inspirations, the 21-year-old singer/songwriter has grown up on a steady diet of music, literature and film.

Writing and producing along the way, Julian grew frustrated by societal pressure to create data-driven and social media-focused art. In turn, he set out to take a risk and record a 12-track album that will be released later this year. Written and recorded in Brooklyn, the record is titled Mala Noche –meaning ‘Bad Night’ in Spanish a depiction of a recurring scene from Julian’s life in New York.
Red Car is beautiful. Simply Julian and his guitar. Julian’s haunting vocals linger in your mind long after the song has finished.
