Katy Perry has delivered some good and bad news about her Witness World Tour.
Taking to Instagram, the singer shared the bad news that “due to unavoidable production delays”, some of her forthcoming opening tour dates had to be postponed.
Stating that major elements of her tour set design were not ready for her to rehearse on, Katy said: “I’ll be spending the next few weeks taking the time to properly prepare the show to be an experience I am proud to share with you. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this causes, but hope everyone who sees the show will agree it was worth the wait.”
The Witness World Tour will now begin in Montreal on September 19. Rescheduled dates are available on her website. The only date to be cancelled completely is her show at the KeyBank Center, New York.
However, with bad news comes a little good news. Katy has confirmed that Noah Cyrus, Purity Ring and Carly Rae Jepsen will be joining her on the road in North America. Noah will be supporting Katy between September 19 and November 1, with Purity Ring taking over from November 7 to December 20. Carly will complete the leg between January 5 and February 5.
The Witness World Tour is in support of Katy’s latest album Witness, which contains the hits ‘Chained to the Rhythm’, ‘Bon Appetit’, and ‘Swish Swish’.
In addition to rehearsing for her tour, Katy will be hosting the MTV Video Music Awards later this month. The host will also be performing alongside the likes of Fifth Harmony, Ed Sheeran and Lorde.
