Kehlani Hospitalized Following Suicide Attempt

R&B singer Kehlani is currently recovering from a suicide attempt following severe backlash from the public. Yesterday (March 28) rumors erupted circulating whether or not Kehlani had cheated on her boyfriend, 3-time NBA All-Star and current point for guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers Kyrie Irving.

It all stemmed from Kehlani’s former flame, rapper PARTYNEXTDOOR (aka Jahron Anthony Brathwaite). The young rapper, who is currently signed to Drake’s OVO Sound record label, posted a picture to his Instagram featuring the two together in bed.

The picture showed neither Kehlani nor PND’s face, but two interlaced hands, one of which clearly branded with a WOKE tattoo identical to Kehlani’s. Adding insult to injury, the picture was captioned “After all her shenanigans, still got the R&B singer back in my bed,” solidifying the public’s belief that the woman in the picture was, in fact, Kehlani.

And although the post didn’t come with a specified date, many jumped to the conclusion that it was recent.

Following PND’s post, Kehlani immediately deleted all of her existing social media accounts. However, this morning, she returned to Instagram with an explanation. That explanation came in the form of a photo of her arm with an IV straddle around it and a clear-cut admittance that she had attempted suicide.

The post read,

“Today I wanted to leave this earth. Being completely selfish for once. Never thought I’d get to such a low point. But.. Don’t believe the blogs you read .. No one was cheated on and I’m not a bad person… Everyone is hurt and everyone is in a place of misunderstanding.. But as of today, I had no single wish to see tomorrow.. But God saved me for some reason, and for that… I must be grateful.. Cuz I’m not in heaven right now for a reason… On that note.. Bye Instagram.”

Following the uproar, false reports of Kehlani being found dead in her home after an apparent suicide found their ways to multiple media outlets, causing widespread frenzy.
