Kelly Clarkson was forced to cancel a secret show in New York last night (November 3rd), after she became too sick to perform.
Instead, Clarkson decided to turn the concert into a listening party for hew new album ‘Meaning Of Life’.
Speaking to the crowd at the SSiriusXM event, Kelly said “do you want to hear the good news or the really bad news?”
“The good news is I’m here, the bad news is I caught a virus from my one-year-old.”
“You have no idea how bad I feel.” Clarkson told the 100+ strong crowd before promising to reschedule the concert as soon as she was feeling better.
Clarkson then previewed six new songs from ‘The Meaning Of Life, the first American Idol winners 8th studio album, as well as explaining the inspiration behind each of the tracks.
As away to further to please disappointed fans, Kelly sat for an hour long Q&A with fans, before holding a meet and greet to end the night.

‘The Meaning Of Life’ is Kelly Clarkson’s first release on Atlantic Records, after she successfully completed her recording contract with RCA Records which she had won after being crowned the first winner of American Idol back in 2002.
Speaking ahead of the albums release Clarkson said “this is the record I always dreamed I would make growing up.”
“You can hear all of my musical influences on this album, Aretha, Whitney, Mariah, Reba… it’s a soulful sound and I’m super proud of it.”
