Hunky Hollyoaks actor Kieron Richardson has spoken out about his hearbreak of several failed IVF attempts to father a child with a surrogate mother.
Richardson, 30, tied the knot with long-term love Carl Hyland last year and the couple have been trying to become parents for fourteen months but so far they have been met with heartbreak after four failed attempts.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror about his and Carl’s hell at not yet becoming fathers the actor who plays Ste Hay in the Channel 4 soap, said: “We were hoping to have a baby this year. Unfortunately, like anyone who is trying for a baby through IVF – whether they are gay couples or not – it is a lottery. The statistics when we first started it were a 70% success rate. We have tried it four times, with the same surrogate mum, and we have fallen into that 30% bracket of it not working.
Despite his disappointment at the failed attempts Kieron is adamant that he and Hyland will become dads in the near future, saying: “But we have not given up the fight and are still continuing. We are going to keep trying until it is successful.”
The loved up couple embarked on their journey to become parents in July 2015 and have kept the identity of their surrogate mum a secret and the pair have also kept tight lipped on how they found the woman.
Kieron Richardson also confirmed that despite the failed attempts he and his husband are confident that the woman will be able to conceive their child; “Everyone is fit and healthy, yet it just not working. We wont look for another mother. It is just one of those things. We won’t stop until we have our baby.”
Celeb Mix would like to wish Kieron and Carl all the best for the future and we hope they will soon welcome their first child.
