After a long wait, Lady Gaga has finally announced her new studio album “Joanne”. The album is named after her late aunt who died in 1974, as well as her own middle name and will be out Oct. 21. Another interesting fact is that Gaga’s father, Joe Germanotta, also named his New York restaurant Joanne Trattoria after his late sister.
The Mother Monster announced the news during an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 today and said her fifth album will be finished in the next 48 hours. She also mentioned she collaborated with songwriter Hillary Lindsey.
Gaga’s aunt Joanne’s handwriting will be included in the album booklet, along with her personal items like driver’s license and photos.

This is the star’s first solo album since 2013’s ARTPOP. There are currently 12 songs on the album’s track list. However, Gaga said that might be cut to 11 songs and 14 songs on the deluxe version.
