As summer is slowly coming to an end, the movies are already preparing for the next big holiday coming up. This year, Last Christmas, written by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings and directed by Bridesmaids director Paul Feig, is going to make it into cinemas on November 8 in the U.S.

The screenplay was in development in collaboration with former Wham!- frontman George Michael, until his sudden, untimely death on Christmas Day in 2016.

The movie focuses on Kate, a young, London-based woman who is just trying to make a living, specifically around the festive time of the year as an elf in a Christmas store.

While on duty, Kate wears a Christmas elf costume and is surrounded by music, lights and little kids all day long, which is actually the perfect surrounding to be in a perfect festive mood, but Kate just doesn’t seem to be into Christmas at all.

It all seems to change as she meets Tom. She won’t admit it, but somehow, this very stranger is able to push the needed buttons no one else has been able to find.

As Christmas comes closer, we find out about Kate’s passion and past and why she simply seems to stand out every now and again. But it’s Tom who opens her hard shell and we have to find out alongside Kate who he actually is.

Starring Game Of Thrones and Me Before You‘s Emilia Clarke as Kate, as well as Emma Thompson as Kate’s mother, Last Christmas is sure to bring us smiles and laughter.

We’ll also get Crazy Rich Asians actor Henry Golding as Clark’s on-screen partner. With Clarke and Golding playing the roles of Kate and Tom, we can look forward to seeing their characters in sweet, lovely and romantic situations in the heart of busy, wintery London.

And every now and again, we’ll get to hear George Michael’s unique, unforgettable voice singing his songs, such as ‘Last Christmas.’
