Lauv has teamed up with Anne-Marie for his latest release, the brutally honest but wonderfully catchy ‘fuck, I’m lonely’.
The collaboration, which follows on from Lauv’s recent singles including ‘Drugs & the Internet’, ‘Sad Forever’ and the Troye Sivan collab ‘I’m So Tired’, came about after the pair met whilst playing at Wembley Stadium for Capital’s Summertime Ball earlier this year.
The track is full of angst and in Lauv’s words, has “pretty self-explanatory” lyrics which detail the feeling of loneliness after breaking up with someone. Despite being full of heartache lyrically, the track is armed with an irresistible beat, making this the ultimate sad bop. Lauv’s trademark style is evident throughout whilst Anne-Marie adds her own twist to the song.
Speaking about the track, Anne-Marie said: “I love this song and I love Lauv. I’m so excited to share ‘fuck, i’m lonely’ with everyone. I never really like admitting that I miss someone after a break up. So here’s a song that does it for me. Enjoy!”

‘fuck, i’m lonely’ is set to appear on Lauv’s forthcoming debut album ~how i’m feeling~, however, it is also the first track to be released from the soundtrack to the third season of hit Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. The soundtrack will also include yet-to-be-named tracks from the likes of 5 Seconds of Summer, Charli XCX and YUNGBLUD.
Speaking about being included on the soundtrack to 13 Reasons Why, Lauv, who has been very vocal about de-stigmatising mental health issues himself said, “I’m excited to have “fuck, i’m lonely” included on the 13 Reasons Why soundtrack…I believe the show has done amazing work but as we release this song, I wanted to share my thoughts about the show with you: when you watch, watch thoughtfully – start with a close friend who you feel like you can be honest with.”
The third season of the show will be making its way to Netflix on August 23, with the soundtrack being released on the same day.
