But will it get him an Oscar this time?
Filming for Alejandro González Iñárritu’s survivalist western ‘The Revenant’ has been subject to controversy already with a myriad of complaints and mishaps having occurred on set. Cast and crew have had to suffer freezing temperatures, snowballing budgets and particularly violent stunt mishaps (imagine being dragged naked across the Canadian tundra). But now Leonardo Dicaprio, the star of the picture himself, has opened up about the dire activities he endured.
“I can name 30 or 40 sequences that were some of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to do,” he told Yahoo. “Whether it’s going in and out of frozen rivers, or sleeping in animal carcasses, or what I ate on set. [I was] enduring freezing cold and possible hypothermia constantly.”
The big question is, will it finally be enough for our dear Leo to receive his coveted Oscar for Best Actor? The Revenant will be released in cinemas on December 25th 2015 in the USA and early January for the UK.
