Ira Losco will be representing Malta at this years Eurovision 2016 contest and her song ‘Walk on Water’ is definitely set to be a top 3 contender.
The pre-chorus is absolutely enchanting and the whole song fits perfectly into the drum and bass genre, a perfect fit for worldwide charts – even the U.S. music market as well. Songs such as ‘Never Forget You (by MNEK & Zara Larsson) also have the drum and bass sound and has become a global smash hit. ‘Walk On Water’ even gives off a gospel-tinged influence near the ending of the song.
Overall, we believe the song will do wonderfully on the Eurovision contest not only because of the songs production but lyricism as well. The song boasts the following lyrics:
“I’ve been fading into grey
Trying to be someone
Trying to please someone
I’ve been painting bitter blue
Always hitting walls
Always trying to break the fall
I’m not perfect
But I’m A ok
Chasing off the clouds
I lock the blues away
I lock the pain away”
It then heads to the universally acclaimed pre-chorus consisting of lyrics:
“I can’t get enough of your love
I can’t get you out of my heart
I can’t get enough of your love“
While short, it gives off an effective pounding sound which is sure to arouse the listener in one second – it surely did for us. We were floored!
Ira Losco herself “is also a firm believer in LGBT Rights and has been praised for her fearless comments during hot debates in her country regarding this issue. She continues to support the ‘Malta Gay Rights Movement’ till this very day”. We can firmly see this support through the songs lyrics and it’s beautiful to see.
Losco had previously competed at Eurovision in 2002 and was close to winning coming in SECOND place. So perhaps this song will be Malta and Losco’s winning ticket!
