Lin-Manuel Miranda, the composer, and creator of the fabulous Broadway show “Hamilton” will be leaving next month, according to multiple reports.
Miranda, who plays lead character Alexander Hamilton, will leave the cast of the musical after the performance on June 9th 2016. He will be leaving to work on other projects,(those which we know will be amazing works of art).
He has been in the historical show since its off-Broadway opening in January 2015 at the Public Theatre.
Miranda has written music for the upcoming Disney animated movie ‘Moana’, which we are hyped for its release in November. As well, and being the genius that he is, he is very eager to take many opportunities thrown his way. Some of these include his first Broadway musical ‘In the Heights’ becoming a movie, a starring role in a sequel to the Disney classic ‘Mary Poppins’, and a new idea for yet another Broadway musical.
His last bow on Hamilton will be less than a month after the Tony Awards. After being first shown over a year ago, Hamilton has been nominated for 16 awards. We are not surprised at the number of nominations due to the huge success and astonishing actors and actresses in the show. Miranda is up for three for himself: for his role as leading actor in the show, for the book and the incredible score.
So, as Miranda does a “scramilton” from Hamilton, we wish him all the best in the future. We have no doubt that whatever he does next will be fantastic!
