Little Mix have had a busy week in the lead up to the release of latest album LM5 yesterday, from their show at EartH in Hackney for Apple Music to their YouTube event which saw the launch of their latest video for Strip featuring Sharaya J.
Ahead of the release of the video for the track, Little Mix posted a powerful photo across their social media of them posing naked covered in body-shaming words and insults. When we first heard Strip live we immediately loved the empowering message behind it, loving everything about yourself even if society doesn’t love it. The video for the track features many familiar faces alongside the girls making up their extended squad of incredible, beautiful women. These include the likes of the girl’s families along with incredible female’s whose stories they’ve been sharing on Twitter over the last few weeks. These include Coppafeel’s Kristen Hallenga, plus size model Felicity Hayward, sex and relationships YouTuber Hannah Witton and mental health ambassador Bryony Gordon.
The video is the perfect visual for the track, stripping everybody of their make-up and celebrating their natural beauty. Little Mix have always preached the importance of body confidence and this video really highlights this as they dance about having the best time; loving their bodies in the process. Strip has won the hearts of many Little Mix fans with feel-good lyrics such as ‘if you got little boobs love it, if you got a big ass grab it’ and ‘finally love me naked, sexiest when I’m confident’. We absolutely love the video for Strip which was brought to life by Rankin and co-directed by Little Mix in partnership with YouTube Music.
Strip featuring Sharaya J is taken from Little Mix’s fifth studio album LM5 and looks set to be a setlist favourite when the quartet head out on their UK and Ireland tour next Autumn.
