The organization of Lollapalooza Colombia was forced to cancel the event after one of the headliner’s pulled out of the gig over fears of the Zika virus. Local news outlets name Rihanna as the star in question, but Rihanna’s record label has yet to respond to questions.
Apart from the rumoured appearance of Rihanna, Wiz Khalifa, Disclosure and Lana Del Rey were already announced to be performing at the festival.
In a statement in Spanish the organization explains that the headline artist pulled out hours before the announcement of the festival roster and that due to major difficulties finding a replacement the entire event, that was set to take place mid-September, will be cancelled.
Ticket holders are offered a full refund.
