Southern California based pop singer/songwriter and mental health advocate Lucy & La Mer has just dropped her latest track. Just in time for June’s Pride celebration, “Don’t It Feel Good” is the upbeat pop single we all need in our lives.
In “Don’t It Feel Good”, Lucy has crafted an upbeat song all about enjoying life and getting back out there after a time of turbulence. She confides, “after spending most of the last two years at home, I really started to feel my insecurities and self-doubts come back when I started to socialize again. But now, I finally feel ready to get back out there and explore and have FUN. Pride month is about community and celebration. I’m releasing this song now because I want to inspire folks to let go and live in the moment, especially anyone who is still feeling the weight of the world around them. You deserve moments of absolute joy.” The song begins with a vivacious whistle and soon culminates into driving basslines and colorful synths. Lucy’s warm and affected vocals sing infectious melodies over worry-free inspired danceable sonics. “Don’t It Feel Good” is the party song of the summer and one that is a great celebration of who we are in all of our intricacies.
Lucy & La Mer is an openly bisexual singer/songwriter who uses her music to draw awareness to the struggles that many LGBTQ+ people face. Her music and social media platform is a safe space for people of all sexualities, genders and walks of life. “Don’t It Feel Good” is the first single of the year from this prolific songwriter who has been releasing music since 2013.
