Mabel makes her triumphant return to planet pop this week, with the release of her brand new single ‘Good Luck’ – a hedonistic, dance/pop anthem inspired by “house, heartbreak, and female solidarity” and featuring Jax Jones and Galantis.
Feeling inspired having watched and re-watched various shows and documentaries ‘Paris Is Burning’, ‘Pose’ and ‘Drag Race’, the message behind the track aims to reflect how dance music has become a generational hub for expression, liberation and inclusion.
Commenting on the track, the BRIT Award winner says: “‘Good Luck’ is the empowering song you need when getting ready to go out: when you’re feeling low about someone, and your friends will take you out to get that person off your mind.”
Channeling that same #GirlPower energy, the singles accompanying music video sees the ‘Don’t Call Me Up’ singer further explore the visual universe of previous single ‘Let Them Know’, in which a nightclub is “no mere physical state but also a fearless new state of mind…”
Projecting a steely confidence for anyone who’s ever felt like they don’t deserve to be in the room, Mabel encourages fans of all ages to get dressed up, and own the night!
