This Labor Day Weekend we were surprised with not only Eminem’s return with the release of Kamikaze but also how quickly Machine Gun Kelly responded to his disses.
On Friday, August 31 Eminem dropped his newest album Kamikaze, containing various disses aimed at rappers currently in the game. Eminem criticized the 28-year-old on “Not Alike” following their feud in 2012 over MGK commenting on his daughter’s looks.
“And I’m talkin’ to you, but you already know who the f–k you are, Kelly / I don’t use sublims and sure as f–k don’t sneak-diss / But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie” references the controversial tweet.
“Ok, so I just saw a picture of Eminem’s daughter,” Machine Gun Kelly wrote on Twitter. “And I have to say, she is hot as f–k, in the most respectful way possible because Em is king.” It was controversial because Hailie was 16 at the time and Kelly was 21.
Machine Gun Kelly was then banned from Sirius XM’s Shade 45 channel, which is Eminem’s Hip Hop channel.
“Mad about something I said in 2012,” Machine Gun Kelly raps in “Rap Devil.” “Took you six years and a surprise album just to come with a diss / Homie we get it, we know that you’re the greatest rapper alive.”
He took to Twitter to explain to his fans that he had to stand up for himself and the younger generation regardless if Eminem was his idol in the past.
im standing up for not just myself, but my generation. im doing the same shit you did back in ur day. life is still real on my side, and i had to take time from the grind to defend myself from someone i called an idol. love, Rap Devil.
