Mae Stephens celebrates female empowerment with the unveiling of her latest single ‘Woah Man!’

    Mae Stephens

Fresh from the release of her breakthrough smash hit ‘If We Ever Broke Up’ – which reaching no.13 on the Official UK Singles chart during a ten-week Top 20 run – the feisty, funk/pop-orientated track comes correct with pulsating baselines, swirling synths and conversational lyrics that align perfectly with International Women’s Month.

Commenting on the alt-pop anthem, Stephens says: “‘Woah Man!’ highlights the ups and downs of being a woman and the power and beauty that comes with that, diving into controversial topics like hiding tampons to calling out the inequality of gender hierarchy. ‘Woah Man!’ was created to be an anthem of empowerment for females and a message to the next generation to be proud to be a woman.”

    Listen to ‘Woah Man!’ below:

Stephens first began her musical journey by self-releasing songs like ‘I Want You to Be Here’ and ‘Devil Eyes’ in 2020, much to the delight of fans and critics.

Following the initial online success of ‘If We Ever Broke Up’, she signed a deal with EMI Records leading to the tracks official release in the Spring of 2023. A year later came the launch of her debut EP ‘Securely Insecure’ – a thoughtful and beautifully curated collection of tracks including ‘Small Town Syndrome’, ‘Make Me Your Mrs’, and ‘ADHD’.

Hailed by many as one of the one of the UK’s biggest breakthrough international artists, Mae has collaborated with The Chainsmokers, Meghan Trainor and Alok, as well as seen her music remixed by the likes of Zack Tabudlo and Anton Powers.
