MisterWives is one of the most exciting and heartfelt indie pop bands of the millennium. Their latest single is called “Easy” and it is a soaring electronic-dipped pop song all about resilience.
With “Easy”, MisterWives reflect on how turbulent and hard times can be but how someone must persevere to attain happiness and personal growth. With lyrics including, “cut me deep, but I stopped the bleeding / it gets easier, but it’s not easy / I’m still standing and my heart’s still beating / It gets easier, but it’s not easy,” MisterWives acknowledges the struggle in continuing and persisting when the world seems stacked against you. Despite this, the band reminds listeners that it can often become easier and a way forward to better things is possible. In the accompanying cinematic visuals, lead singer Mandy is seen dancing around in a whimsical house full of gorgeous plants and tranquil lighting. Symbolically, the video shows celebration in the midst of struggle and joy in the midst of change. Sonically, “Easy” is a thrilling listen with heightened melodies, vibrant synths and glittery tasty soundscapes. Mandy’s lush vocals ebb and flow culminating into an exciting chorus that screams resilience.
