Duo Misunderstood – comprising of members Stephan and Jeffrey – were the first duo to be immediately eliminated from the competition, with their receiving the fewest public votes.
From the moment the duo’s first audition aired, the nation fell in love with the London duo. Their unique energy and original tracks, such as ‘Chewing Gum’ and ‘Girls In London,’ impressed at the various stages through the competition.
On Saturday’s Live Show, which had the theme of ‘Movie Week,’ Misunderstood performed ‘Maniac’ from movie ‘Flashdance.’
Following Misunderstood’s departure from the competition, Dermot O’Leary announced that duo Acacia & Aaliyah and Giovanni Spano were in the sing-off, with both acts having to fight for their place to remain in the competition.
Once both contestants had performed, Judges Simon Cowell, Louis Tomlinson, Ayda Field-Williams and guest Judge Nile Rodgers, decided who was to stay in the competition and who was leaving.
Despite giving a phenomenal performance in the sing-off, the Judges voted to keep Acacia & Aaliyah in the competition, meaning Giovanni Spano left the competition.
On Saturday’s Live Show, Giovanni Spano performed ‘The Greatest Show’ from movie ‘The Greatest Showman.’
Giovanni’s rock and roll performances made him a stand-out contestant in the competition, bringing something which is rarely seen on the show.
Since both Misunderstood and Giovanni Spano’s elimination, viewers have took to social media to express their shock at the elimination, with many commending both acts respectively.
We are sad to see Misunderstood and Giovanni Spano leave the competition!
‘The X Factor’ continues on Saturday and Sunday nights on ITV. Make sure you tune in to see the remaining eight contestants’ performances!
