When Mumford and Sons decided to tour South Africa, the expectations weren’t spectacularly high. They would announce a couple of shows and pretty much just see who showed up. Things turned out a lot bigger than the band expected. As of now, they have sold no less than 85000 tickets in the country.
Award-winning live-specialist David Carruthers filmed this mini-adventure turned full-blown phenomenon. ‘Live from South Africa: Dust and Thunder’ will play in selected cinemas worldwide on November 8.

The film features the two final nights of Mumford and Sons’ South African tour at the Monument Amphitheatre outside Pretoria. According to the band’s website, ‘Dust and Thunder’ gets to the very heart of what makes Mumford and Sons such a special act and is an “exciting and emotional document”.
Demand for more screenings than the ones initially announced is incredibly high and the band has already announced that more screenings will be added.
