Rio De Janeiro-based alt-pop project Paradise Guerrilla introduces their brand-new single, “Storm,” a track from their upcoming album, I Wanna Make a Hole in the Sky, slated to drop on September 10, the same day as their performance at the first edition of The Town Festival in São Paulo, alongside Bruno Mars, Kim Petras, and H.E.R,
According to Paradise Guerrilla, “‘Storm’ brings the most ‘dancefloor driven’ production so far, due to the richness of its powerful beats, combined with analog timbres and electronic elements, reinforcing their analog/electronic blending musical trademark. In this more dance-driven vibe, they tell a story about friends living a wild night out and having some out-of-the-body experience, not only enjoying themselves but also facing a real storm of personal feelings, philosophical questions, and sensitive perceptions.”
“Storm” was mixed and mastered by Henry Sarmiento and Grammy nominee John Armstrong, known for his work with a who’s who list of artists.
Along with appearances in elite music outlets, Paradise Guerrilla’s debut music video, “Another Galaxy,” was a finalist in two categories in Music Video Festival 2022. “Another Galaxy” amassed more than 300,000 streams on Spotify and over 200,000 views on YouTube.
Formed during the pandemic, Paradise Guerrilla is made up of two inter-dimensional beings – Frankstation and U.F.O. – and an earthling, Starlight. After realizing their undeniable chemistry, they released their first single “Another Galaxy” in 2022 and composed over 70 songs, many of which will be featured on their upcoming album.
Paradise Guerrilla’s sound merges elements of pop with tinges of other genres, utilizing images, lyrics, and sonic layering to create their unique songs.
Opening on lush, swirling tones, oozing with creamy savors, “Storm” flows into a powerful rhythm topped by Starlight’s dreamy, evocative voice as deep, glowing harmonies add depth and dimension. Low-slung swooshing, vibrating synths infuse the melody with alluring washes of color, imbuing the tune with gliding, drifting surfaces.
Paradise Guerrilla has it going on! At once mood-altering and rippling with dance-pop dynamics, “Storm” is spine-tingling.
