Pop/EDM songwriter Rob Roth introduces his latest single, “Breathe Into My Heart,” a track from his forthcoming EP, Sink or Swim.
Talking about the song, Rob says, “I wrote ‘Breathe Into My Heart’ as an homage to music becoming my life’s savior. After looking back on my adult life, I realized how many dead-end roads I kept walking down over and over again. Music truly became engraved into my DNA over the last two years and has shown me that all of the pain and agony I went through wasn’t worthless, in fact, it gave me a real purpose in life. Music breathed life back into my soul and put my broken pieces back together.”
Rob Roth’s journey to a career in music was anything but normal. An athlete, he went through three major surgeries in five years. With the last surgery, he decided to use going under the knife for something positive – changing his outlook on life. Part of that change was reconnecting with music.
Lacking any singing experience, he took his first vocal lesson in 2019. When the pandemic hit, Rob immersed himself into music, later acknowledging that music saved his life. Since then, Rob has gone from zero – never having written a song – to eighteen songs, along with more than 22,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
“Breathe Into My Heart” opens on gleaming, shimmering colors, riding a thumping kick-drum as Rob’s delicious tenor imbues the lyrics with tender, affectionate textures. On the bridge, the rhythm assumes tasty syncopation, followed by the harmonics ascending to the entrancing chorus.
“Walking in my past / See the concrete blocking every path / Over and over again / Been running through the haze / Down an endless road with no escape / Over and over again.”
Wow! “Breathe Into My Heart” belies Rob Roth’s recent entry into music. The song sparkles with galvanizing energy and superb vocals.
