Music Premiere: The Shamanic Releases Irresistible ‘Higher Ground’

The Shamanic, made up of Craig J. Snider and Ralphi Rosario, recently released their new EP, Higher Ground, featuring Joaquina Daphaney via Wake Up! Music.

Together, Craig and Ralphi have remixed artists such as Lady Gaga, U2, The Pussycat Dolls, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Beyoncé, Ricky Martin, Gloria Estefan, Katy Perry, Madonna, and Cher, along with a host of others.

In 2021, The Shamanic dropped their debut single, “Fire” with Andrea Love. 2022 will see The Shamanic release their debut album.

Composer, producer, remixer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Craig J. Snider produced David Cassidy’s 2018 EP, Songs My Father Taught Me. He also scored Nancy Goodman’s romantic comedy, Surprise Me, May Tchao’s documentary film, Hayden & Her Family, and CNN’s series Dark Was the Night.

Craig’s music has been featured on American Greed, The Voice, Corporate, Madame Secretary, MTV’s Real World, and Sex and the City, along with campaigns for Weber Grills, Nissan, AMC Theatres, ESPN, Blue Cross, Gatorade, Toyota, and McDonald’s.

On his part, Grammy nominee Ralphi Rosario began his career as a DJ, followed by being a member of Chicago’s Hot Mix Five. His crossover hit “You Used to Hold Me” established Ralphi as a living legend. Since then, Ralphi has worked/remixed stars such as Beyoncé, The Pussycat Dolls, Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga, Jo Jonas, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Depeche Mode, Jennifer Lopez, Cher, Ricky Martin, The Ting Tings, Kelly Rowland, Donna Summer, Goldfrapp and Katy Perry.

Together, Ralphi Rosario and Craig J. Snider contributed musical spots for all six seasons of HBO’s Sex and the City.

The EP embraces five versions of “Higher Ground” – Club Mix, Radio Mix, Alternate Mix, Original Mix, and Dub Mix.

Highlights include the Club Mix, riding a galvanizing beat topped by a sparkling piano and the delicious vocals of R&B, soul singer Joaquina Daphaney, while the Alternate Mix features radiant vocal harmonies, adding to the tune’s depth and dimension.

The Dub Mix opens on a thumping kick-drum laced with syncopated percussion. An extended bassline and percolating colors give the tune glowing washes of lustrous textures.

“Higher Ground” struts with alluring energy and a contagious rhythmic pulse, all crowned by the deluxe, luscious tones of Joaquina Daphaney.
