Austria announced Nathan Trent as their representative for Eurovision 2017 back in December. Two months on, the song has been released with an accompanying music video.
It has been a long wait for this song, and a few days ago it was leaked on Spotify. There are many ballads this year, so it’s refreshing to see that Nathan Trent has chosen a gentle pop song to represent Austria. However, it isn’t the only gentle pop song competing this year; Spain’s Manel Navarro’s “Do It For Your Lover” is also of a similar style.

The music video shows Nathan Trent exploring Austria and showing the beautiful scenic views of the country. He is climbing up, with the intention to get to the top and to see the best view of them all.
It definitely shows off Austria in the most scenic way possible. It also shows Austrians as friendly and kind since everyone Nathan Trent comes across helps him out in any way they can.
Could Eurovision be returning to Austria next year? It all comes down to whether Nathan Trent, with this song, can win; and beat all the other strong acts.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2017 is definitely going to be competitive this year. The semi-finals will take place on 9 May and 11 May, with the Grand Final taking place on 13 May 2017. Last year, Jamala won with “1944”, bringing the contest to her home country of Ukraine. It will be held at the International Exhibition Centre in Kyiv. Who will win? Time will tell.
